Small collection of papers relating to Ezekiel F. Chambers (1788-1867), a Kent County attorney and judge who lived at Widehall in Chestertown after 1822. He was educated at Washington College and served in the Maryland Senate and the United States Senate. He was appointed Chief Judge of the Second Judicial District and Judge of the Court of Appeals. The papers include land records, court proceedings, genealogical information, letters a promissory note, and a copy of Mr. Chambers' will. Two of the documents are copies from the Maryland Hall of Records and another is a copy of an original document relating "stories" about Judge Chambers and listing some genealogical information. |
