Scope & Content |
The Tolchester Folio of the Geological Atlas of the United States contains information about the Tolchester quadrangle. It has pages of information about geology, topograhpy, the climate and vegetation, drainage, culture, stratigraphy, geological history, and more. There are also two maps: a topographical one and an aerial geology one. The topographical map shows altitude, contours, streams, lakes,salt and fresh marshes, roads and buildings, churches and schoolhouses, railroads, bridges, ferries, wharves and piers, county lines, triangulation stations, bench marks (giving precise altitudes) and lighthouses. The aerial geology map indicates the locations of various sedimentary rocks in the region. The last page is a collection of pictures showing the different types of geological features. |
