Ethel Gibbs (born 1890) was born in Cecil County but lived in Chestertown during her childhood and then elsewhere in Kent County. She discusses her schooling, the Depression, farming and leisure activities ncluding going to Tolchester and Betterton. During World War II, she worked at the defense plant as an inspector. Other topics discussed are women's suffrage and issues, the 1918 flu epidemic, migrant farm workers and local stores and businesses. 3 original cassette tapes |
